The Business Incubator launched in October of 2011 in Leesburg. Programming began soon after and the Loudoun Tech Startups group was created, growing in 2016 to over 1000 members. Incubator offices filled beyond capacity a year ahead of schedule with a strong community of government contractors in part due to portions of Leesburg being designated as a HUBZone in January 2013. In July 2015 the SBDC in Loudoun merged with the MEC-Leesburg Incubator allowing for enhanced services for incubator members and seamless support for entrepreneurs throughout the lifespan of their business. This combined organization has truly become the Hub of Entrepreneurship in Loudoun County. Next up for the Mason Enterprise Center Loudoun is increased programming geared toward second-stage companies and rural businesses.
